S.M.I.L.E.® (Special Moments In Little Events) is a social group within the DSA of NWI and Chicagoland for individuals aged 16 through 116 who ROCK that extra chromosome, as well as other developmental challenges and differing abilities. We endeavor to have activities on a quarterly basis, or more often as opportunities present themselves. We also desire to recognize and celebrate the achievements & milestones of our members. S.M.I.L.E.® presents a casual atmosphere for family and professional caregivers to network on topics such as healthcare, education, employment/work programs, respite, summer camps, and more. As the DSA moves into its new building in 2016, S.M.I.L.E.® looks forward to holding dances, exercise classes, cooking classes, and additional activities.
Glenn & Cathy Tucker coordinate S.M.I.L.E.® activities, and they welcome input and involvement from parents and others interested in organizing events for these amazing individuals. S.M.I.L.E.® has its own Facebook page, and communicates activities & events through the DSA of NWI newsletter, Facebook, and emails. Like our Facebook page as well as the DSA of NWI page to stay informed. To receive emails from S.M.I.L.E.® , contact the Tuckers at firstname.lastname@example.org.
